Staff at Dorset County Hospital have been honoured in a national scheme to recognise NHS employees who go the extra mile for their patients.
Six hospital workers were nominated by patients and colleagues for the NHS Heroes Awards.
They received certificates from Chief Executive Jean O'Callaghan.
The winners were:
Kevin Turner and Billy Clarke, Sexual Health Service
Alex Sissons, Admissions
Penny Burt, Housekeeping
Kay Scott, Theatres
Laura Wilson, Physiotherapy
Chief Executive of Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (DCHFT) told Wessex Fm that "The overall theme of NHS Heroes is one of celebration. NHS staff do amazing things every day - they care for people through the most difficult times, and that mission is the same whether they are working on the front line or behind the scenes.
"The NHS Heroes initiative was launched earlier this year as part of the NHS's 64th birthday celebrations and brings national attention to the local healthcare heroes who mean so much to the people they serve."
