Walkers Ignoring Hazardous Cliff Warnings along Dorset Coast
7:58am 24th December 2012
There's concern people walking near the South Dorset coast aren't taking the risk of landslides seriously.
Purbeck District Council says people are ignoring warning signs in the most dangerous areas.
"There's a risk that further cliff falls and landslips may occur" - that's the line from the District Council's Chief Exec Steve Mackenzie.
It's after a cliff fall onto the northern part of Swanage beach on Friday (21st December).
Coastguard Rescue Officers cordoned off the area close to the Grand Hotel and there are now warning signs in place along the beach.
But apparently people aren't paying much notice.
Dorset Police and the Coastguard are reminding people not to put their lives in danger and obey warning the signs in the most hazardous areas.
