Rain Adds To Dorset Flood Misery
8:18am 29th December 2012
Flood hit areas of South and West Dorset COULD face more problems with further heavy rain forecast today (Saturday 29th December).
A number of fields and roads into Dorchester plus small towns and villages around Weymouth are still flooded.
Water levels are expected to rise with more heavy rain on the way.
Currently flood warnings are in place for the River Wey, the South Winterborne Valley, the Frome between Dorchester and Wareham, and, for two hours following high tide, the coast from Chesil to Lyme Regis, with low lying land and coastal roads at Lyme and West Bay particularly at risk.
Dorset has been battered by sporadic downpours for over 2 weeks now.
