Busy New Year For Dorset Fire And Rescue

It's been a busy New Year holiday period for Dorset Fire and Rescue.
Firefighters from Sturminster Newton using hydraulic rescue equipment had to remove the roof and back seats of a car to reach a person trapped by a two car collission near Bagber. The casualty was taken to hospital by the Dorset and Somerset Air ambulance.
A dog died at a conservatory fire at a house in Melplash. Crews from Bridport and Beaminster using breathing aparatus tackled the blaze while a team from Charmouth were on standby. It's believed tea lights or an electrical fault with Christmas lights may have caused the blaze.
An electric fire too close to an armchair was responsible for a fire at a house in Pulham. The property was fire and smoke damaged. Crews from Sturminster Newton and Sherborne spent more thna an hour at the scene damping down.
And a vehicle's been destroyed by fire off Alameda Road Littlemoor, outside Bincome First School. Fire chiefs believe it was started deliberately, and police are investigating.
