9:12am 5th January 2013

A Lyme Regis pensioner has admitted trying to smuggle drugs into the country from Morocco.

71 year old Robert Coulson hid 29 kilograms of cannabis in 4 inner tubes in the spare wheel compartment of his car in November 2012.

He was caught by border officials coming into a Portsmouth ferry port.

The drugs had a value of around £168,000.

Coulson has been released on bail to be sentenced at a later date.
