Weymouth Landlords Warned Of New Energy Rules
9:31am 9th January 2013
Weymouth landlords are being urged to become more energy efficient or face an uncertain future.
Under Government legislation, properties with a poor Energy Performance Rating after 2018 will no longer be fit to let.
The Government wants more Dorset landlords to do things like insulate their walls and lofts, to keep the heat in and therefore save energy.
Under what's being called the Green Deal, the cost of improvements will be paid through a loan attached to the properties electric and gas bills.
The National Landlords Association says, the energy savings made by the improvements will result in cheaper bills.
A meetings being held on Tuesday 15th January for Weymouth Landlords and Letting Agents to learn more about the Green Deal initiative.
It's taking place from 7pm at the Weymouth Working Men's Club, 1 Mitchell Stress, Dorset, DT4 8BT.
