More People Reporting Crime via Twitter in Dorset

7:35am 14th January 2013
(Updated 7:44am 14th January 2013)

Dorset Police is warning Twitter users not to report crimes via the social networking site!

The Force says their personal account - which is @DorsetPolice - is not checked regularly so important tweets may be overlooked and individual tweets are not usually responded to.

Officers say Twitter is not a very safe way to report crime.

They suggest sticking to the old fashioned telephone instead and calling 999 or 101 for non-emergencies.
