Work Starts On Repairing Chideock Water Main
2:27pm 14th January 2013
Major work to repair an old water main is underway in South Dorset village.
Temporary traffic lights are in place to control traffic going by.
Around 550 metres of iron pipe is being replaced along the A35, Chideock Hill, between Bridport and Lyme Regis.
The work's costing £160,000 and is expected to take 4 weeks to complete.
It's all in an effort to bring the water line up to modern standards.
The old main was well known for frequent bursts that would disrupt supply to people living nearby.
Temporary lights will be in place for 3 weeks.
