A teenager and 6 adults have been arrested on Littlemoor in a Police operation involving undercover officers and armed response units.
The 17 year old local boy, arrested last night (16th January) was wanted for a number of offences in the local area and is currently in Police custody, helping with enquires.
4 men aged between 19 and 24, plus 2 women aged 22 and 49 from the local area were detained by Police on suspicion of assisting in the harbouring of a criminal.
All are currently being held at Weymouth Police Station.
It's understood the arrests are in connection with a recent spate of anti-social behaviour crimes in and around the Littlemoor area.
The operation involved a number of departments within Dorset Police including Safer Neighbourhood teams, patrol officers, armed response officers, specialist operations units, including dogs, traffic and covert operations.
Inspector Les Fry of Weymouth & Portland Police said: "We will not tolerate crime or anti-social behaviour and we will take positive action against anyone suspected of committing offences.
"Following a number of recent incidents of crime and anti-social behaviour reported in Littlemoor, we have increased our patrols in the area quite considerably. We will continue to target anyone whose behaviour falls below the standard that the community wants and expects.
"We will continue to work with all the appropriate agencies, including Weymouth & Portland Borough Council, Dorset County Council, Dorset Fire and Rescue Service, and community groups within Littlemoor to make the area a better place for all to live and work."
