Council Launch Life Improvement Project in Weymouth and Portland

If you live in Weymouth and Portland and want to improve the quality of life in your area - then this is how you can.
A special drop in session is being held at the Park Community Centre next Friday.
The council are running it with the aim of coming up with an action plan to deliver projects that will help make your life better.
Kate Wheller, Weymouth and Portland Borough Council Social Inclusion brief holder, said:
"These drop-in sessions are an opportunity for people in the borough to really change the area in which they live.
"It is important we get the views of residents at the sessions so we can build an action plan together and deliver improvements to the area so please come along."
Anne Marie Vincent, Chair of Weymouth & Portland Partnership said:
"I would like to encourage as many residents as possible to come to our first 'Working with You' drop in session. With your contribution we can work more effectively together to make a difference in your community."
The 'Working with you' project aims to build an action plan of short, medium and long term projects to deliver a better quality of life for residents through:
- Working more effectively with residents and promoting community and agency joint working
- Improving communication between residents local groups and agencies
- Agreeing and achieving local improvements
The first takes place at the Park Community Centre, Chelmsford Street, Weymouth on Friday 25 January from 11.30am to 1.30pm for Melcombe Regis residents and businesses.
