Stratton House Closes Its Doors
3:05pm 18th January 2013
The old West Dorset District Council offices are closing today for good.
Stratton House on High West Street is being left behind for new offices in South Walks.
Council leaders say the new building is more energy efficient, cheaper to run and will save them 200 thousand pounds a year.
The local authority says they've had plenty of interest in buying their old HQ.
Councillor Gould, Leader of West Dorset District Council, said: "The new offices will save us £200,000 a year and will go on saving us money each year and every year.
"Importantly, we can also now offer a better service to the people of West Dorset as we now have a building fit to do business in. I am very pleased that for the first time ever, people in wheelchairs can access the whole building."
