Beaminster Volunteers Help School Leavers Into Jobs

Beaminster job club

9:02am 20th January 2013

School leavers looking for a job are benefiting from a special club run by volunteers in Beaminster.

The group - supported by Magna Housing - meet Wednesday lunchtimes at the Yarn Barton Centre in town.

14 industry volunteers from a range of backgrounds like farming, media, politics and the armed forces chat with youngsters about their prospects.

Christian Tyler a volunteer at the club said 'The aim of the club is to be one of the first points of contact for school leavers and people who have been made redundant in the Beaminster area. Although we keep up to date with local vacancies we are not an agency we aim to offer advice, encouragement and to give people the confidence to find the right job, training or set up their own business.'
