Refuse and recycling collections have resumed in West Dorset, Weymouth and Portland, and Purbeck.

They're working normally, but West Dorset crews will only pick up from main thoroughfares in Winterborne Abbas, Martinstown, Winterborne Steepleton, Sydling St.Nicholas, Grimstone, Frampton, Bradford Peverell, and Maiden Newton  due to lying snow and ice there.

Homes where the collection was missed on Friday are being asked to hold onto their waste till their next scheduled collection, except in Purbeck.

There, the District Council says all collections will be a day late and crews will work on Saturday(26th January) to get back on schedule.

Residents are advised to put refuse and recycling out on normal collection days, but expect pickup to be a day late.
