A Police investigation is underway after a man tried to grab a girl on her way home from School in Lyme Regis.

The 14 year old girl says she was followed and grabbed by an unknown man as she left the Woodroffe School alone after dark last Tuesday (15th January).

He offered her a lift home and grasped onto her arm, but the teenager refused and ran away.

She says she weaved in and out of the streets and had to hide behind a fence to escape.

The man's described as white, 6 feet tall, of medium build with a dark beard and a foreign accent.

He was wearing a black coat with the hood up and jeans.

Dorset Police has told Wessex FM they're investigating and enquiries are on-going.

Anyone with any information is urged to call Dorset Police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting log number 15:468.
