Cumberland Drive Road Closure Extended
10:33am 24th January 2013
Work to build a new crossing on Cumberland Drive in Weymouth will take an extra week due to the cold snap.
The road closure, between the Cumberland Drive junction with Chickerell Road and access to the Land Registry, will now last until next Friday (8th February).
The Council says it's been too cold to lay concrete or 'black top' on the new installation.
Businesses remain open as usual, with drivers needing to access the Granby Industrial Estate from Chickerell Link Road.
The toucan crossing being installed on Cumberland Drive is part of the Marsh Route shared use footpath and cycleway, which links Newstead Road with Chickerell Link Road.
Other work in the area has, so far, been unaffected by the cold weather.
