Overall Crime Down 10% in Dorset Despite Cuts to Police Staff

Crime has fallen in Dorset in almost every category, according to official figures released today (Thursday 24th January).

According to the Office for National Statistics, there were just fewer than 42 thousand offences in the County, in the year to the end of September - that's a 10% drop in overall crime.

Robbery and violent crime were both down 17 and 20 per cent respectively.

Car crime was up 11% though.

The latest figures show crime in England and Wales is down to a record low.
