New Scheme to Help Youngsters Find Work in Bridport
5:13pm 24th January 2013
A new scheme's being launched to help solve the problem many youngsters have of finding work or training in Bridport.
It's called Skills Training Bridport, and aims to pull together businesses, training providers and mentors to overcome the problems of accessing places further afield.
The idea's come about because many teenagers feel isolated in the town and can't afford to travel to access them on low wages or benefits.
Bridport councillor Ros Kayes says Weymouth College, Kingston Maurward College Dorchester, Yeovil College and local firms will be represented at the launch event at the Town Hall this evening, which starts at 6pm.
They're also looking for community volunteers with experience in finding work or running their own firm to come forward to help.
