Wessex FM Listeners Bring Towels To Help Guillemots

towels donated for birds

12:30pm 2nd February 2013

Kind hearted Wessex FM listeners have been dropping in towels and washing up liquid in response to the appeal to help stricken Guillemot birds washed up along the Dorset coast.

They'll be taken to the RSPCA at West Hatch where staff are trying to clean them up and restore them to health.

More than 200 birds have been rescued so far.

Meanwhile the RSPB says it'll consider legal action over the bird contamination scare along the south coast of England - if it's appropriate.

Hundreds have died after being covered in a sticky substance.

There's speculation the illegal dumping of cargo oil at sea may have caused it.
