Urgent Help Needed For Vulnerable Young People
8:09am 4th February 2013
Could YOU help Dorset's vulnerable young adults?
Nightstop is the only emergency service in Dorset finding short term accommodation for 16-25 year olds at immediate risk of homelessness.
Nightstop are now appealing for more volunteers to help.
The service is run by Action for Children, and has been in Dorset since August 2009. Nightstop recruits, trains and supports volunteers around the county who open their homes on a short term basis to vulnerable people.
Wessex FM spoke to Kevin Mounce, Nightstop's Co-ordinator, who told us how important the short-term placement is, "it's there to keep young people safe and secure whilst other agencies look to put more longer term solutions in place.
He continued to say that, "the great thing about Nightstop is that it can fit round people's lives".
The project relies entirely on donations and volunteers.
