An increase in Council Tax suggested by Dorset's Police and Crime Commissioner is under review at County Hall (Thursday 7th February).
The panel made up of local authority members are reviewing Martyn Underhill's crime plan and draft budget for the next 5 years.
Underhill announced details of his crime plan last week.
He's calling for a 7 pence a week rise in Council tax to pay for 12 new Officers.
The plan includes providing more support to victims and 250 more special constables and volunteers on the beat in Dorset.
Meanwhile, the Crime Panel appointed Debbie Simpson as the Forces new Chief Constable of Dorset Police earlier.
