Home Watch groups from Weymouth and Portland are uniting in the hope of making it even safer on the streets.

The want to establish regular communication between police and residents.

Police Volunteer Mr Peter Jones, who is working to create the network, told Wessex FM, 'I would like to encourage residents to join their local scheme. It has been proven that the Home Watch Scheme makes communities safer, and feel safer, and brings people together'.

Home Watch groups are owned and run by the members, but supported by the police.

A meeting will be taking place on the 26th February at 6pm in Weymouth Conference Room for existing Home Watch Co-ordinators and anybody wanting to get involved.
