A Weymouth couple opening a Spiritual shop in their home have discovered the FOUNDER of a Christian group once preached there.
Allison and John Conway of Epworth Villa unearthed that their house was once owned by the Methodist Church by looking through the deeds.
They then were amazed to find out it was used by John Wesley who is credited, along with his brother, for starting the Methodist movement. Their home was referred to in one of his journal entries from Friday 6th September 1776.
John Conway told Wessex FM, "it just fits with the rest of the house. I know Methodism is very strong in this area so it's nice to know people will recognise it as being mentioned as the house within Weasley's journals"
He continued to say, "it's a very peaceful house and we want to offer part of that to people locally and as far and wide as they want to come".
The couple are currently waiting for a plaque from the Methodist Society to go outside.
Their in-house Spiritual shop called Body, Soul and Spirit will be opening on Friday (1st March), the couple welcome everyone to attend.
