Homewatch Teams In Weymouth And Portland Meeting Tonight

Police volunteers and people living in Weymouth and Portland are meeting tonight (Tuesday 26th Feb) to figure out ways to make their communities safer.

Both work together on the Home Watch scheme that's aimed at reducing and preventing crime locally.

It's an initiative supported by the Police but run by local people.

Police volunteer Peter Jones, who is working to create the network, said: "I would like to encourage residents to joint he local scheme. It's been proven that the Home Watch Scheme makes communities safer, and feel safer, and brings epople toegther".

Tonight's meeting in Weymouth's Conference Room gets underway at 6pm.
