A woman in her 30's has been burnt trying to put out a fire at a play park in Weymouth.
Arsonists attacked the play equipment behind the Littlemoor Community Centre on Canberra Road around 9.20 on Monday night.
Weymouth Neighbourhood Inspector Les Fry said: "This was another malicious fire in the Littlemoor area.
"Fortunately, nobody was seriously injured.
"Dorset Police has been working hard with our partner agencies to ensure crime and anti-social behaviour is effectively tackled on the Littlemoor estate.
"We will not tolerate this sort behaviour and I urge witnesses to this incident and anyone with any information about those responsible to contact police as soon as possible."
Weymouth and Portland District Commander Dave Graham, of Dorset Fire and Rescue, said: "Arson is extremely reckless and not only causes serious damage but ties up firefighters' time and resources when they could be dealing with a genuine emergency.
"All fire is extremely dangerous, and arson even more so as it can harm not only the individual setting the fire but also those community minded individuals who may try to extinguish it, plus of course our fire crews."
Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 25:450. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
