The first sea birds that were rescued off the Dorset coast a month ago are being released today (Thursday 28th February).
Over 300 Guillemots and Razorbills were found washed up on beaches in Weymouth and Portland covered in a mystery wax type substance. Most were discovered on Chesil Beach.
The RSPCA has since been taking care of the birds, cleaning and rehabilitating them so they can be released back into the wild.
The West Hatch Animal Rescue Centre in Taunton say they hope up to 30 of the now healthy seabirds can be released today following veterinary assessments to make sure they're fit.
They'll be released off the end of Portland near a Guillemot colony.
West Hatch Centre Manager Peter Venn told Wessex FM they hope to release all of the rescued birds over the next few days, click below to listen to more.
