The number of people employed by Council's in the South West has fallen dramatically since the General Election, but that's not the case in Dorset.
New data from the Office for National Statistics has been released by the GMB Union.
There are now 449 fewer people employed by the County Council, that's a 2.5% reduction.
Other local authorities like Somerset and Bristol who employ a similar number of staff have managed to shed their staffing levels by 19 to 25%.
They say most of the job losses have come from freezing vacancies, redundancies and natural wastage as a result of budget cuts.
