Nurses Injured In Alleged Assault At Dorset County Hospital

A man's been arrested and released on bail after an incident at Dorset County Hospital.
He was allegedly behaving aggressively towards staff.
Dorset Police have just confirmed to us the details of the incident that took place on the 24th of February.
Police were called to Dorset County after reports of a man swinging a drip stand around.
A 43-year-old Weymouth woman and 42-year-old woman from Poole both nurses at the hospital sustain minor injuries.
A 49-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage - he's been released on bail.
A spokesperson for Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust confirmed that an incident occurred at the hospital on 24 February 2013 when staff members were assaulted by a patient. She said: "It was frightening for both staff and patients and we are very proud of the way they coped with such a difficult situation. The incident was handled by department staff, managers and security personnel until police arrived and the patient was arrested. The matter is now under police investigation so we are unable to comment any further about the details of what happened at this stage."
