There's been a dramatic rescue by the coastguard after a man fell down a cliff at Portland Harbour.

South West Ambulance control raised the alarm to a 34 year old man who'd fallen onto the beach at Sandsfoot yesterday afternoon (19th March).

He suffered a broken leg and due to the terrain couldn't be evacuated over land.

The Coastguard Helicopter was scrambled from Portland Air Base to air-lift the casualty direct to the landing site at Dorset County Hospital for emergency treatment.
