Three People Threatened By Thieves In Weymouth

An appeal's out after 3 people were approached and threatened by thieves in Weymouth.
The seperate incidents all took place between 8 and 10.15 last Friday (15th) night on Westham Road and the Esplanade.
The first incident occurred at 8.15pm on Westham Road, it's alleged that an offender threatened a local man in his 80s and attempted to steal items from him. No one was injured.
The second incident occurred at 9.45pm on the Esplanade. The victim, a 19-year-old woman from Weymouth was walking along the road when it is alleged that the offender threatened her and stole her mobile phone. She sustained a minor injury.
The third incident occurred at 10.15pm also on the Esplanade. The victim, a man in his 40s who is not from the local area, was approached by two men. It is alleged that he was threatened and his mobile phone and wallet stolen. No one was injured.
Detective Constable Sarah Desmond, of Weymouth CID, said: "I would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed anything that can help with the investigation. In particular there was a member of the public who was on the Esplanade at the time of the third incident that may have seen something. I am also keen to speak to the person whom the victim asked to call the police."
She added, "I encourage anyone who has been a victim of crime to come forward and tell the police as soon as possible."
A 35-year-old man and a 40-year-old man both from Weymouth have been charged with attempted robbery, robbery and possession of an offensive weapon. They appeared at Weymouth Magistrates Court on 18th of March 2013 and were remanded in custody.
