No matter whom you are a parent, grandparent, middle aged hipster or young whippersnapper it would be fair to say most of us know someone on Facebook or Twitter.
The evolution of the social network world wide has exploded in recent years and one of its most recent users has told Wessex FM it's helping them fight crime.
Both pages of their pages have hundreds of followers who can stay up to date on the latest criminal activity and incidents around Bridport area.
Scott McGregor from Dorset Police says they've been getting a lot of attention since they first launched on Facebook and Twitter; "It's great that we have so many followers and it brings us closer to people locally. We see a lot of "likes" and "shares" too, which means people outside the region are seeing our messages too and even people outside the county follow us, it's quite incredible."
Scott says they try to provide the latest information on road accidents so people can tap into their Twitter and see what areas are affected by traffic jams; "We try to give people advanced notification so they can take alternative routes so they're not too inconvenienced by a major accident on the road."
