Family Business Hope Expansion Plans Approved in Bridport

A half million pound expansion plan for a family run business in Bridport is being supported by the town council.
Groves Nurseries, whose premises are adjacent to the A35 Bridport by-pass, and can be accessed from the Crown Roundabout, want to add a new coffee shop and covered areas to improve the customer experience as well as its general appearance.
Owner Charlie Groves says it will take five years to complete, assuming their planning application's approved.
But hurdles they still need to overcome include permission from the Highways and Environment Agencies, plus Dorset County Council before his plan, which will include new jobs, can be put into place.
Subject to those approvals, Mr Groves told Wessex FM he would like the work to start this summer, after the peak springtime demand.
