Dorchester's Foreign Market Moved to New Location
3:17pm 11th April 2013
The foreign market in Dorchester has been moved after concern that stalls were blocking off entrances to high street shops.
The Towns Chamber made the decision after a number of discussions with shop owners in the County Town.
President of the Dorchester Chamber of Commerce Alison Moore explained the decision to Wessex FM, "We recognise that there are potential barriers with the markets being at the bottom of South Street and so on, so we're trying them in South Walks this year. We've got a fantastic new spot right by the new council offices. It links together really well with Brewery Square and we've hopeful it's going to bring extra people into town as well as not causing problems for our members."
This Saturday (13th April) the French market will set up shop along South Walks by the new council offices.
