Vandals Strike On Portland
9:48am 18th April 2013
People living on a stretch of road on Portland are having to fork out money for repairs after a spree of vandalism on the island.
A number of properties and cars have been damaged with wing mirrors ripped off and drain pipes torn from the walls.
Vandals were quick to attack the properties on Church Lane and Avalanche Road, taking no more than 30 minutes to do their damage.
Dorset Police say the incidents occurred between 11:30pm and midnight last Saturday (13th April).
Police Constable William Taylor, of Portland Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "This mindless act has caused distress to the car and property owners.
"I am appealing for anyone who witnessed these incidents or saw any suspicious activity around the time in that area to contact police.
"This type of behaviour will not be tolerated and I would also like to hear from anyone who has information about those responsible."
