Wildlife Cruises On Offer In Dorset
10:08am 19th April 2013
How do you fancy seeing some of Dorset's dolphins whilst on a coastal cruise?
To celebrate World Oceans Day on the 8th of June, Dorset Wildlife Trust are offering boat trips to wildlife watchers.
There will be two cruises both leaving from Poole Quay.
Nicky Hoar, Communications Officer at Dorset Wildlife Trust, told Wessex FM what people could expect to see, "We have timed both the cruises during the bird nesting season so we'll be looking for seabirds including guillemots, kittiwakes and puffins."
He continued, "We might even be lucky and spot marine mammals again this year. Some of species recorded over the last year off Dorset are white-beaked dolphins, common dolphins, harbour porpoise as well as a breaching thresher shark, sunfish and minke whale, so you never know, anything could happen and it shows just how rich our seas are."
The World Oceans Day cruises are on Friday 10th May and Saturday 8th June, they'll leave Poole Quay at 7pm, travel through Poole Harbour, west to Dancing Ledge, and arrive back round 10pm.
