Plan to Improve Weymouth Community
7:58am 22nd April 2013
There's a renewed effort to try and improve the community for people living in a troubled area of Weymouth.
Episodes of minor crime and anti-social behaviour have blighted Westham the past few months.
Starting this a week, the Borough Council is running a series of events for local people and businesses to attend and discuss ways of improving the local area.
The first one is taking place at St Edmunds Church, Lanehouse Rocks Road on Tuesday 23 April from 10am to 1pm.
The other meetings are scheduled for Conifers School, Radipole Lane on 24 April from 3.30pm to 5.30pm and Methodist Church, Newstead Road on 27 April from 10am to noon.
Jane Nicklen, Weymouth & Portland Borough Council Head of Community Planning and Development, said: "We want as many people as possible to have their say about their local community and to come to these sessions. It's important that we get the opinions and ideas from local people in the community about how to improve the area in which they live and work.
"If you live or have a business in Westham and are interested in discussing and making improvements to the area then come along or get in touch with us so we can talk with you."
