A climber has had to be taken to hospital after a fall in Swanage.

The 29-year-old man was trying to scale cliffs at Anvil Point when he fell Sunday afternoon.

It's thought he slipped while attached to his climbing rope and was sent swinging into the cliff face.

He suffered injuries to his head, back and chest.

Portland's Coastguard Helicopter winched him to safety and took him Dorchester A and E.

His injuries aren't thought to be life threatening.
