Average Pay Falling In Dorset

5:36pm 23rd April 2013

An average worker in Dorset can expect to receive £863 less per year then they would have done three years ago.

The new figures, released by the TUC, (Trades Union Congress) suggest that the pay cut is partly due to wages failing to keep up with inflation.

They also suggest that well-paid jobs and being replaced by part-time or lower wage positions.

Dorset's 3.4% wage drop, however, is in contrast to the 10.4% rise in the Poole area, where the average weekly wage has increased by £49.
