Green Fingered Helpers Needed Tomorrow In Weymouth
1:27pm 26th April 2013
Friends of Nothe Gardens in Weymouth are looking for helpers to put 700 plants in the ground tomorrow. (Saturday 27th April)
Back in December 2009 the community formed a wildlife hedgerow and now the friends are hoping volunteers will join them again to plant wild flowers.
Everybody is welcome, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
Roger Genge, Chair of the Friends of Nothe Gardens is looking forward to improve the area further:
"we're improving the hedgerow area by planting wildflowers, which especially attract bees and insects and they will look beautiful too."
"All we need is for people to turn up with a trowel and spare a bit of time to help us plant the plugs."
People will be meeting on Saturday (27th April) at 10am, opposite the Nothe Tavern.
