It's A Knockout Fundraising Challenge For Dorset's Disabled
10:04am 28th April 2013
Diverse Abilities Plus are organising an "Its a Knockout" style challenge to raise funds for Dorset residents with disabilities.
The event will take place at Redlands Community Sports Hub in Weymouth on Sunday 23rd of June.
Sharon Wells, the events fundraiser at Diverse Abilities Plus, describes the activities planned for the day:
"6-8 different types of games will happen during the day with a display of novelty objects, gunge and all round merriment, replicating the show. Participants will compete through mayhem and props in a variety of different activities in a bid to be crowned victorious. At the end we'll be doing an awards ceremony and people will be given prizes."
Diverse Abilities Plus was founded 58 years ago in 1955 by a Bournemouth family after their child was born with cerebral palsy.
"Since then our charity has grown to support nearly 500 people across Dorset," Sharon explains.
