Visitors to Dorset beauty spots are being warned not to leave valuables in their cars.

Thefts from vehicles usually increase during the spring and summer months due to longer days and more people visiting the county.

Crime Prevention and Design Advisor for Dorset Police, Debbie Oldfield said:

"Many vehicles are seen with valuables on display or windows left open. This is an open invitation to thieves.

"The best advice is not to leave anything in your car. Leave it at home, or take it with you."
