Thieves Target Lobster Pots on Portland!

Pubs and resturaunts in Weymouth and Portland are being warned to be vigilant after lobster thefts along the coast this weekend.
Police say thieves dragged a large lobster cage from the water on to the beach at Stone Pier in Castletown on Sunday night, and stole the contents.
The catch was worth a significant amount of money and local eateries are being warned to look-out for anyone selling lobsters or shell fish on the cheap.
Police Constable Sally Ludlow, of Portland Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "The lobsters that were stolen are worth a substantial amount of money.
"I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident or saw any suspicious activity around the time in that area to come forward.
"In particular, I ask pub and restaurants in the area of Portland, Weymouth and Bridport to be vigilant and report to the police anyone selling lobsters and shellfish for unusually low prices.
"This type of behaviour will not be tolerated and I would also like to hear from anyone who has information about those responsible."
