New details have emerged about the sailing accident that resulted in the death of Dorset Olympian Andrew 'Bart' Simpson .
He was trapped under his team's catamaran when it nose-dived during a manoeuvre in training in San Francisco Bay.
It's understood Simpson was underwater for more than 10 minutes and efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
Officials at The America's Cup are promising a full review into the boating accident. They say conditions were normal at the time, and experts want to work out how the boat overturned and why it broke up.
Captain Matt Blevin from the U.S. Coastguard says they'll support a review into the incident
Simpson, a double Olympic medallist and originally from Sherborne, claimed a silver at last year's Olympics in Weymouth, and Gold at Beijing in 2008, both alongside Iain Percy.
