A property used for drug dealing in Weymouth has been shut down by Police.
The crack house on Lennox Street has been a well-known area of activity and Dorset Police have carried out numerous actions to try and resolve the issues at the address, including the execution of two warrants under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Due to the on-going nuisance at the property police applied for a Crack House Closure Order.
Weymouth Magistrates issued the closure notice and the property has been boarded up. The landlord will not be warranted to let the property until the order expires in 3 months time.
Chief Inspector Les Fry says criminals should take note: "It sends a very clear message we will not tolerate drug dealing or anti-social behaviour. In this case we worked very closely with Weymouth and Portland's anti-social behaviour team. The place is now closed and we will take similar action anywhere else".
