No Prize for Dorset at Tourism Awards

Tourism

1:52pm 21st May 2013

Dorset has failed to claim a single prize at this year's national Visit England awards, despite a record haul for the South West.

Gongs were handed out for best B&B, Hotel, Holiday Park and for the best Tourism Experience.

19 were awarded to businesses across our region, but none to any local companies in Dorset.

The tourism awards took place in Manchester last night (Monday 21st May).

Chairman of the South West judging panel, Alistair Handyside, said:

“Once again the tourism businesses in the South West have excelled at the national VisitEngland Awards.

The country’s most popular and diverse region for tourism continues to downplay the talk of doom and gloom, and continues to invest in the visitor experience.

This years’ award winners are fabulous examples of what is on offer for visitors to the South West this summer.”
