Children Playing on Dangerous Landslide

Portland Helicopter 1

11:53am 27th May 2013

Children have been caught climbing up a dangerous landslide near Lulworth.

As they started to climb the rocks, stones started to fall onto the beach below where people were sunbathing.

Portland coastguard has issued a strict warning to Lulworth cove and Durdle Door visitors to stay away from the massive landslide, which wiped out 100 metres of the Dorset coast path last month.

Dorset's coastguards have had a busy Bank Holiday weekend with two kayakers rescued on Saturday lunchtime off Anvil Point near Swanage.

The Portland coastguard helicopter also helped out South Western Ambulance to airlift a woman who broke her ankle on a coastal path near Durdle Door on Friday afternoon as well as a kitesurfer with a broken leg near Poole.
