How safe do you feel in Dorset?

A special community event is being held in Weymouth this week, where you can find out how to protect your home and your property.

The event will be held by Weymouth & Portland Borough Council along with Dorset Police and Dorset County Council on Thursday 6 June from 10am to 3pm, New Bond Street, Weymouth.

At the event people will be able to:

- Come and meet their local Safer Neighbourhood team from Dorset Police
- Seek advice on how to protect their home and vehicle
- Talk to the illegal money lending team from Dorset County Council's Trading Standards
- Report anti-social behaviour in their community to the Safer Neighbourhood team and get advice on how to deal with anti-social behaviour
- Pick up free property marking kits to protect home from burglary
- Meet the borough council's Community Safety Team and find out about how they can help residents experiencing anti social behaviour in their area

Weymouth & Portland Borough Council Community Safety brief holder Cllr Geoff Petherick said: "This event is an opportunity for residents of Weymouth and Portland to find out about the borough council's community safety team, information about protecting their properties, crime prevention and dealing with anti social behaviour.

"People will also have the opportunity to meet their Safer Neighbourhood representatives who they can talk to about any anti-social behaviour concerns they may have."
