Dorset Wildlife Trust say they've seen a drop of around 25% in their funding.
They're concerned that protection of the environment has become less of a priority at a time when many traditional funding sources for charities have been reduced or withdrawn.
The Trust says its achieved notable conservation successes in recent years and to continue their work and boost funds they're asking more people to become Trust members.
Director of Fundraising and Marketing for DTW, Alastair Cook said: "We depend heavily on the support of our members, as they provide our only regular source of income. We receive no Government funding for carrying out our conservation work and protecting some of the most beautiful parts of Dorset."
