Police Release E-Fit Of Conman
8:50am 12th June 2013
There's a renewed appeal for help finding a man who conned an elderly woman near Dorchester.
We first told you about the toilet seat conman last week.
The man in question poses as a gardener and a handyman.
He managed to get a 90 year old woman in Winterbourne Steepleton to hand-over 90 pounds to fix her toilet seat (Friday 31st May).
He pocketed the money and told her he was off to get a part for the job, but he never returned. Dorset Police have had no luck finding him and have released an e-fit in the hope of tracking him down.
Police Constable Jess Chapman, of Dorchester police, said: "This is a deplorable crime against an elderly woman.
"I am now able to release an e-fit of the offender.
"I would urge the man pictured - and anyone who recognises him - to call Dorset Police.
"The offender may have been driving a white pickup truck.
"I am appealing for anyone who recalls any suspicious activity in the area at the time and anyone with any information about the person responsible to contact police."
The offender is described as white, in his late 30s, of stocky build with a round face. He has short dark hair and was wearing a dark coloured boiler suit.
