Weymouth Chosen For A Big Gig

Weymouth Clock Tower

8:52am 12th June 2013

Weymouth has been included in the Government's summer of music!

Communities Minister Don Foster has announced the seaside town will host one of the UK's "Big Gigs" next month.

Concert organisers say they aim to bring people from all different backgrounds together.

330 of the events will run across the country between the 11th and 14th of July, with over 200,000 people expected to attend.

The concerts will be free for everyone - the audience and the musicians - and will take place at a wide variety of venues around the country suitable for all ages from churches and cafés to parks to pubs, as well as a mosque, a Roman palace and a rugby club.
