Police Hunt For Reckless Driver

10:13am 14th June 2013

Police are trying to track down a man seen driving dangerously in Weymouth.

The incident happened around 1.20pm last Sunday (9 June) along Portland Road.

Police say the red Peugeot 206 was seen over taking a number of cars at speed heading past All Saints Church towards Portland.

One car travelling in the opposite direction had to break heavily to avoid a head on crash.

Police say they're keen to speak to the reckless driver.

He's described as white - with a shaven head and was wearing a green top at the time.

Police Constable Alex Head, of Weymouth and Portland police, said: "The reckless actions of this driver could have caused a serious collision, and I am very keen to speak with them.

"We believe the offending driver to be a white man with a shaven head who was wearing a green top at the time.

"I am appealing to anyone who may have seen a red Peugeot 206 driving dangerously in the area of Portland Road, or may have information about the driver to contact Dorset Police."

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 09:251. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
